001×7 Cation Exchange Resin

001×7 (Na⁺ form)
001×7 is a gel-type strongly acidic styrene cation exchange resin. The sodium form is used for water softening and the hydrogen form for demineralisation. With high exchange capacity, good mechanical strength and osmotic shock resistance, it is the workhorse resin for softeners and multi-bed demineralisation trains, supplied to match vessel volume.

Key Features

  • High exchange capacity for long softening runs and low salt use
  • Good mechanical strength for repeated regeneration
  • Sodium form ready for softeners; hydrogen form for demineralisation
  • Uniform beads for stable pressure drop

Frequently asked questions

Strong acid cation or strong base anion?
SAC (gel) for softening and demineralisation cation beds; SBA (gel or macroporous) for anion exchange; mixed bed grade available for polishing.
What is the exchange capacity?
Typically ≥ 4.5 mmol/g dry for 001×7 SAC and ≥ 3.6 mmol/g for 201×7 SBA; the certificate states the measured value per batch.
How should resin be stored before use?
Keep sealed below 40 °C, avoid drying out and freezing; rinse with 4–6 bed volumes of water before commissioning.
