RO Water Treatment Systems

RO / ULTRA-PURE WATER SYSTEM
RO systems use reverse osmosis as the core desalination step, combined with multi-media filtration, activated carbon, softening, precision filtration and EDI polishing, to turn municipal water, groundwater or surface water into pure or ultra-pure water. Xinnian configures each process train around the feed water analysis and the point-of-use requirement, from 0.5 m³/h to several hundred tonnes per hour, as a stand-alone unit or as part of a complete water station with storage, VFD supply and circulation loops.

Applications

  • Ultra-pure water for electronics and power
  • Food, beverage and bottled water
  • Pharmaceutical and chemical process water
  • Boiler make-up and HVAC make-up
  • Laboratory and hospital testing water

Process configuration follows the feed water analysis: softening ahead of RO for hard water, carbon or sodium bisulphite dosing for high chlorine, and EDI plus polishing mixed bed where high resistivity is required.

Water Softeners

Water Softeners

WATER SOFTENER
Softening exchanges calcium and magnesium for sodium on a strong acid cation resin, holding outlet hardness below 0.03 mmol/L. Automatic control valves regenerate by volume or time, and twin-tank alternating designs provide continuous supply. Softened water is widely used ahead of RO, for boiler make-up, laundry and domestic hot water scale prevention.

Applications

  • Pre-softening ahead of RO
  • Boiler and heat exchanger make-up
  • Hotel and hospital hot water scale prevention
  • Textile, dyeing and laundry water
  • Domestic whole-house softening

Selection requires feed hardness, daily consumption and peak flow. For hardness above 6 mmol/L or water high in iron and manganese, pre-treatment for iron removal is recommended.

Constant Pressure Booster Systems

Constant Pressure Booster Systems

CONSTANT PRESSURE WATER SUPPLY
A booster set comprises a VFD cabinet, pump group, pressure transmitter and flow-stabilising tank, adjusting pump speed to hold network pressure constant. Non-negative pressure models connect directly to the mains, using existing pressure to save energy without drawing the network negative — suitable for high-rise buildings, residential estates, schools and factories.

Applications

  • Secondary supply for high-rise buildings and offices
  • Domestic supply for schools, hospitals and hotels
  • Plant process and fire make-up water
  • Waterworks pumping stations
  • Pump room retrofit in older estates

Please provide floor height, number of households or design flow, and mains inlet pressure. Fire supply must be a separate system to code, with standby pumps.

Integrated Wastewater Treatment

Integrated Wastewater Treatment

INTEGRATED WASTEWATER TREATMENT
Integrated units combine anaerobic, anoxic, aerobic and settling (or MBR) stages in a single tank, prefabricated in the factory and lifted into place on site for a small footprint and fast installation. They treat domestic sewage, dispersed rural sewage, hospital wastewater, livestock and food processing effluent to discharge or reuse standard, and buried versions allow landscaping on top.

Applications

  • Rural and township dispersed sewage
  • Hospital, school and scenic area sewage
  • Livestock, slaughterhouse and food processing effluent
  • Motorway service areas and toll stations
  • Water reuse and landscape make-up

Please provide flow, water quality, discharge standard and site conditions. In cold regions insulation or an indoor location is recommended, with access for sludge removal.

MBR Membrane Modules

MBR Membrane Modules

MBR MEMBRANE
MBR modules use PVDF hollow fibre or flat-sheet membranes in place of a secondary clarifier, achieving high sludge concentration and near-zero suspended solids in the effluent while using about one third of the footprint of conventional processes. Modules can be used singly or paralleled in modules, with aeration, backwash and chemical cleaning systems, for new plants or capacity upgrades.

Applications

  • Integrated wastewater treatment units
  • Municipal wastewater upgrading
  • Hospital and industrial park water reuse
  • Landfill leachate treatment
  • Black and odorous water remediation

Flux is designed from water quality and operating mode, with on-line backwash and periodic chemical cleaning. Feed should pass 1–3 mm fine screening first.

Ultrafiltration Membranes

Ultrafiltration Membranes

ULTRAFILTRATION MEMBRANE
Ultrafiltration at 0.01–0.1 μm retains colloids, suspended solids, bacteria and some viruses, holding product turbidity below 0.1 NTU. It is an ideal pre-treatment for RO and can also be used directly for drinking water and water reuse. The HM series offers hollow-fibre elements in several sizes for standard pressure vessels and submerged racks.

Applications

  • RO pre-treatment
  • Municipal and rural drinking water
  • Water reuse and landscape water
  • Food and beverage clarification
  • Seawater desalination pre-treatment

Transmembrane pressure must be controlled with regular backwash and chemical cleaning (sodium hypochlorite plus citric acid). Oily or high-solids feed needs flotation or settling first.

RO Membranes

RO Membranes

RO MEMBRANE ELEMENT
RO elements are the heart of a desalination system. Aromatic polyamide composite spiral-wound membranes remove more than 97 % of dissolved salts, organics and micro-organisms. We supply Toray TM series, DuPont (Dow) BW series and HM 4-, 6- and 8-inch elements for brackish water, low pressure, fouling-resistant and seawater duties, and design the array around your feed analysis.

Applications

  • Industrial pure and ultra-pure water
  • Brackish water and groundwater desalination
  • Seawater desalination
  • Food and beverage concentration
  • Desalination for water reuse

Element selection depends on feed salinity, temperature, SDI and free chlorine. Control recovery and dose antiscalant in operation; store elements away from light and frost.

EDI Stacks & Repair

EDI Stacks & Repair

EDI MODULE & SERVICE
EDI combines ion exchange resin with electrodialysis to remove ions continuously under a DC field, producing 10–18 MΩ·cm ultra-pure water without acid or caustic regeneration — the mainstream polishing step after RO. We supply IONPURE LXM series and Kelason stacks, and provide diagnosis, repair and regeneration so stacks last longer at lower cost.

Applications

  • Ultra-pure water for electronics
  • Pre-treatment for pharmaceutical water for injection
  • Laboratory and hospital testing water
  • Power plant boiler make-up
  • Repair and upgrade of existing EDI systems

EDI feed must be RO permeate (conductivity <10 μS/cm, hardness <0.5 mg/L, free chlorine <0.05 mg/L). For repair, please provide the fault symptoms and operating parameters.

Filter Media (Manganese · Quartz · GAC)

Filter Media (Manganese · Quartz · GAC)

FILTER MEDIA
Filter media are the working fill of any filtration system: quartz sand traps suspended solids and reduces turbidity; manganese sand removes iron, manganese and some heavy metals by catalytic oxidation; activated carbon adsorbs free chlorine, organics, odour and colour while protecting downstream RO membranes. We supply all three in multiple gradings, sized to your vessels.

Applications

  • Multi-media filters and sand tanks
  • Iron and manganese removal from groundwater
  • Activated carbon adsorption and decolourisation
  • Guard filtration ahead of RO
  • Swimming pool and landscape circulation

Fill quantities are calculated from vessel diameter and bed depth; standard packing is 25 kg or 50 kg. Backwash activated carbon thoroughly before use to remove fines.

Resin & Softener Salt

Resin & Softener Salt

ION EXCHANGE RESIN & SALT
Ion exchange resins serve softening, demineralisation and polishing: 001×7 cation resin for sodium-cycle softening; MB400 polishing resin for mixed bed final polish, reaching 18 MΩ·cm; and softener salt as the regenerant, whose purity directly affects regeneration efficiency and equipment life. Resins and salt are available from stock and on annual supply contracts.

Applications

  • Resin filling for automatic softeners
  • Mixed bed and polishing bed ultra-pure water
  • Boiler make-up demineralisation
  • Consumables for laboratory water systems
  • Regenerant salt for softeners

Soak and convert resin in brine before filling. Polishing resin should be fed with RO permeate to avoid organic and chlorine fouling.

Cartridge Filters & Elements

Cartridge Filters & Elements

CARTRIDGE FILTER
Guard filters are installed ahead of RO, UF or points of use to capture particles released upstream and protect membranes and equipment. The common cartridges are PP melt-blown (depth filtration, high capacity), pleated (large area, stable rating) and wound (pressure resistant, washable), covering 10 to 40 inch lengths and 1–100 μm ratings.

Applications

  • RO guard filtration
  • Precision filtration of UF permeate
  • Food and beverage final filtration
  • Plating and coating bath filtration
  • Pre-filter replacement in water purifiers

Replace cartridges on differential pressure (typically at 0.1 MPa). Connections include flat, 222 and 226 — please state rating and length when ordering.
